Your vision is a complicated interaction between your eyes, your brain, your body, and your mind.  Vision therapy is a process that helps maximize the interaction between all those components. There are three basic kinds of vision therapy:

  • Binocular Vision Therapy for eye alignment and movement problems (i.e. lazy eye, poor eye-teaming),

  • Visuo-Cognitive Therapy for vision-based, developmental learning problems, and

  • Neuro-Optometric Vision Rehabilitation for traumatic or acquired brain injuries.

  • Academic & Sports Enhancement for athletes and high academic achievers.

Binocular Vision Therapy (BVT)

The main purpose of BVT is to get both eyes to work well together. Therapy may involve a combination of therapeutic lenses, in-office activities, and at-home exercises. This type of therapy is also known as behavioral optometry which was created over 100 years ago. Unlike other offices, our treatment program tailored for your unique goals, and therapy is done one-on-one to maximize results.

What is vision therapy like?

If therapy is recommended, your doctor will create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. You will have one-on-one sessions with one of our certified vision therapists. After a number of sessions determined by your doctor, she will evaluate your progress, determine which goals you have met, and modify your treatment plan as needed.
